- Class books will be lended to students and, if interested, they can buy them at the end of the course.

The Sampere School will be closed during some National and Local Holidays.
There will be no make up classes due to National or Local Holidays except for One-to-One courses
(5 to 40 lessons).
Intensive courses will be suspended from December 18, 2010 to January 2, 2011.
One-to-One courses and special courses will take place during Christmas
except on December 25 and 31.
There will be no make up of any course, including One-to-One, due to absences of the student.
*Placement test and a tour of the city will take place on Feb 15, Apr 12 and May 24.
Classes will start on Tuesday. |

The Intensive Course is a half-day general Spanish course
of 20 lessons per week.
The course covers the four main skills: listening, speaking,
reading and writing, and it is taught within a conversational
framework.
Four extra culture lessons per week are included in the
tuition fees.

| 4. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM |
Estudio Sampere in Cuenca
is now offering students who enroll in the Intensive
Course for a minimum of four
weeks the unique opportunity to live and work as a volunteer
in one of several sectors of Ecuadorian society.
Some of the options are to teach English to primary-grade
students, child-care, help senior citizens in their
daily routine, assist the homeless or serve as tour guides
in the national parks and reserves. The majority of
these volunteer options are compatible with the Spanish
program/Intensive Course and the students may take
the courses at Estudio Sampere while working simultaneously
in the capacity of volunteers. All volunteers
must have an intermediate level of proficiency in the
four skills of Spanish: reading, writing, comprehension
and oral communication. The students enrolled must make
a commitment to stay with the program for a
minimum of four weeks.

To reach Cuenca from abroad, one must first travel to Quito or Guayaquil, the two International Airports in Ecuador.
Many airlines from Europe and the US fly to Quito or/and Guayaquil airports.
The transfer service offered by Sampere Ecuador is the same for both airports, so book the cheapest flight to Ecuador.
The Quito/Guayaquil-Cuenca ticket must be purchased in Ecuador and the best day for arrival to Quito/Guayaquil is
Saturday since it will not always be possible to connect with a Cuenca flight on the same day.
IMPORTANT! PASSPORT NUMBER IS NEEDED WHEN BOOKING THE TRANSFER SERVICE.
The Quito/Guayaquil - Cuenca transfer service offered by Sampere Cuenca includes:
- Meeting on arrival at Quito/Guayaquil airport by Sampere staff and transportation
to the hotel.
- Single room at a comfortable hotel with breakfast and taxes included in Quito/Guayaquil.
- Meeting on Sunday and transportation to Quito/Guayaquil airport, check-in at domestic
flight terminal.
- Quito/Guayaquil - Cuenca ticket. The return ticket can be purchased in Cuenca
(aprox. US$ 90), or ground transportation may be preferred (aprox. US$ 40).
- Meeting on arrival at Cuenca airport and transportation to accommodation. |
